Golden Light Of Autumn

Hi there, it's Abi,

Welcome to my October Pottery News!

Well, it's that time of year when the nights are fair drawing in, and my lights are on in the pottery studio, as I sit at my wheel making some bowls.

You know how much I enjoy the changing seasons, and Autumn is no exception, with the changing light of the Autumn equinox.

Here in Morecambe we've got high tides, full harvest moons and the golden sunshine of cooler days.

Some people are still swimming, even now after the summer! (Wearing bright coloured buoys to keep them safe in the sea!) with the yachts sailing the breezes of the Bay behind them.

The Bay can seem even more atmospheric and beautiful at this time of the year (with its golden light especially) which continues to be a never-ending source of inspiration for my work.

However it's not all about inspiration; I find making a bowl out of clay, which also has a practical, functional use very satisfying. That way we get to enjoy both beauty and practicality while having soup or special coffee!

Soon my new collection of pots will be ready which reflect the Autumn colours. When they are up in the shop then of course I'll let you know.

In the meantime here is one of my recent pots...

Enjoy the Autumn colours and some lovely walks.

With love.

Abi.

PS Summer flowers ripen into Autumn colours so beautifully...
