Onwards and upwards!
Hi there and welcome to our May Pottery Newsletter.
I hope you've been enjoying the sunny weather May has blessed us with so far.
Up here in ‘The North’…
Morecambe’s been a marvellous vision of blooming flowers to cheer us all along!
Families bustling in earlier for Easter holidays. A time for ice creams, fun and sightseeing.
A bit like the painting on this house by the sea :)
Meanwhile in April Dave and I spent a couple of days away…
And enjoyed a trip down south (and memory lane) to Farnham in Surrey.
The town and area where I did my ceramics degree many years ago!
(Outside the Ceramics department of Farnham Art College where I was a student)
Walking its familiar streets and enjoying the sights and sounds here inspired me all over again.
As did meeting up with friends not seen for a long time which was very special.
It was also fantastic to visit another potter who was also a student at Farnham Art College in the 1980’s. He has a pottery too and talking over the business side of things with him was a great help.
Things like...
How to pack pots properly so they arrive safely!
Because honestly on ‘the business side of life’…
We don’t just ‘sell stuff’.
When we pack a pot, though it be a pot, plate or bowl we send our heart...
Our love. Our soul.
Anyway,
We’re back home now and I’m busy as a bee.
I’m determined that during May the Morecambe Bay Pottery online shop will be ready.
And we’re aiming to get it live before my birthday…
Which is in the first few days of June.
I can't wait...
See you next time.
With love.
Abi.
PS Oh yes she does...
"She saw sea shells on the sea shore" :)
Can you believe it... people in the water, plus water skiing in the sea here yesterday!
And with ice-cream at the van too...
