Spinning plates and celebrating Spring!

Hi there!

Thanks for joining in with my latest adventures in the pottery studio this month…

Now the clocks have sprung forward an hour; it's already so much lighter in the mornings and the evenings. I think it makes such a difference don’t you?

Seeing new buds on the trees…

The magnolia, pink cherry blossom, yellow daffodils and purple crocuses...

And hearing birds sing again makes this time of year so special.

Drinking my coffee in the morning studio sunlight and wandering into the little garden is always a good start to the day.

March was an interesting mix of activities—Kind of like spinning plates actually!

Discovering a new glaze combination was one highlight, as was enjoying working on a special commission too. And in between finishing other pottery I was also splashing about painting the kitchen!

It reminded me of the scene from the ‘Wind in the Willows' where Mole is cheerfully painting his kitchen but accidentally stirs his cup of tea with his paint brush!

The glazes on the finished plates I made last month look just as lovely as the bowls and coffee cups do and I've decided these can be combined into sets…

Meanwhile…

Across the Bay the spring tides are high and deep.

So on a clear day when the sky is blue, there's no other word to describe the view, other than glorious!

Nature speaks without saying a word, nourishing the soul.

The sandpipers, curlews and seagulls are all flying around and enjoying their habitation across the Bay… and it’s no wonder!

To finish up, here’s my last thought…

‘I saw seashells on the seashore’ shall be the next theme for my pots.

Morecambe Bay is well-known for its shrimps and cockle picking and the fishing boats are almost iconic as part of the Bay view. So I think I’ll weave some of these features into my new pottery designs.

Anyway got to go, sun is shining! Thanks for reading once more.

My next pottery update is in May.

With Love.

PS I don't have an online shop just yet (Coming soon though :)

Yet I’m happy to receive requests for pottery commissions.

So if you’ve something in mind hit reply and let me know.

Have a gorgeous April!
